E. Max Weiss

Position: Litigator; Mediator; and Meadville Medical Center General Counsel.

Education: Susquehanna University, B.A., 1969; Dickinson School of Law, J.D., 1972; Mediation training includes courses with United States Arbitration & Mediation Service, 1994, and the National Judicial College course in civil mediation, 2004.

Legal Practice: Emphasis in tort and litigation. Over 38 years experience as a trial lawyer and as a mediator. Emphasis in civil litigation, personal injury, insurance law. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He also serves as General Counsel for Meadville Medical Center.

Accomplishments: Mr. Weiss was a founding partner of Culbertson, Weiss, Schetroma and Schug, P.C., a firm located in Meadville, Pennsylvania from 1972 to 2010. His law practice includes representation in the area of general civil practice, with emphasis in personal injury litigation for both plaintiff and defense. He has experience in insurance defense, product liability, municipal, construction and professional liability cases. He is appointed frequently as arbitrator to all three chairs in UM/UIM arbitrations. He has served as municipal solicitor for more than twenty townships.

Mediation Experience: Mr. Weiss completed the extensive USA&M Mediator Training Program and the National Judicial College course in civil mediation. He has mediated personal injury, medical malpractice, and construction cases using a variety of mediation formats to fit the needs of the parties. He has also been appointed as sole binding arbitrator in matters ranging from a hospital labor strike to personal injury litigation.
